Custódio Jorge was born in Chimoio, Mozambique on 06 September 1983.  He completed the  High School at Samora Moises Machel secondary school in Chimoio in December 2003, and the Bachelor of agronomic Engineering in 2009 from Eduardo Mondlane University in Maputo.  He completed his Master in Crop Science at North West University in South Africa in 2015.   In 2010 he worked as a junior soil consultant and then in 2011 he joined the National Agricultural Research Institute (IIAM) based at Sussundenga research station (SRS) as a junior research on legume department. In December 2011 he worked as conservation agriculture researcher under SIMLESA program, and then head of technical division of station. In 2018 Custódio Jorge was appointed head of seed department at Sussundenga research station
