Mrs Putso Nyathi

Putso is a holder of a Master of Science in Agriculture and Development (University of Reading, UK), a Post Graduate Diploma in Project Planning and Management (University of Zimbabwe) and a Bachelor of Science Honours degree in Agriculture (University of Zimbabwe). She has 18 years of experience working with smallholder farmers in both research and development organizations. She served for five years as a scientific officer for the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Areas (ICRISAT) in Zimbabwe where she was involved in capacity building, monitoring and evaluation of conservation agriculture projects. Putso also worked as a Senior agricultural services officer for Cultivating New Frontiers in Agriculture (CNFA) Zimbabwe’s USAID funded project, and she was responsible for technical training on conservation agriculture and linking farmers to markets. Prior to this, she worked as a Food security officer with World Vision and as a Training and Coordination specialist for the Agricultural extension service in Zimbabwe under the Ministry of Agriculture. She is passionate about alleviating food insecurity in Africa and enjoys interacting with farmers, especially women, as they contribute so much towards food security.
