Dr Johann Strauss
Dr Johann Strauss is an agronomist working on sustainable cropping systems based on Conservation Agriculture principles. He runs 6 large scale CA trials within the Western Cape Province of South Africa. The oldest trial started in 1996. The next 3 followed in 2002, with the last two added in 2016 and 2018. All 6 are long term trials. He is also the secretary of Conservation Agriculture Western Cape (CAWC) an association formed in 2011 to facilitate improving local CA systems by bringing producers, industry and researchers together. The CAWC holds an annual CA conference that consist of a lecture and practical day. A website is also part of the CA effort.
