Dr. Hottensiah Mwangi

Dr Hottensiah Mwangi is an employee of Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organisation, department of Crop Health, Weed Science, based at KALRO – Kabete from 1988 -2018.


Education: BSc. Degree in Agriculture, University of Nairobi (1988), MSc Degree in Crop Protection, University of Bristol, Britain (1994) and a PhD (Horticulture), Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (2016).  


Goal: To share and contribute knowledge and skills in crop management methods for current food security without compromising future generations.


Experience: Acquired skills in National, Regional and International development courses including: Crop Management, Weed Ecology/Interference and Management (Ethiopia), Institutional Natural Resources management and Livelihoods (Tanzania), In depth study in No-till systems (Brazil) and Environmental Impact Assessment and Environmental Audit (Kenya), Literacy & development (Britain) and Networking (Uganda)among others


Social/Community development: Married, mother of Grace, Virginia, David and Trevor.
