
Dr. Barrack Okoba
Dr. Okoba has over 20 years’ experience in conducting research in climate change adaptation studies that focuses on soil and water management. Prior to joining FAO in 2014, he was a principal research scientists at Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organization (KALRO) and a coordinator of Soil and Water Management Programme. Most of the research activities focused on improving soil-water studies where performance of Conservation Agriculture practices was tested among the smallholder farming systems in humid and semi-arid environments. At FAO-Kenya Dr. Okoba is the Climate-Smart Agriculture expert who is involved in the management of projects on strengthening smallholder resilience in increasing productivity and profitability of market demanded value chains. He has developed several knowledge products besides over 20 scientific journal papers, book chapters.
