Dipl.-Ing. Sara Helen Kaweesa

Miss Sara Helen Kaweesa is a Doctoral Research Fellow at the Centre for development research at the University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences, Vienna, Austria. Her research focuses on scaling up conservation agriculture adoption in Mid-Northern Uganda. Prior to that, Sara convened A Rocha Uganda, a faith-based science and conservation, non-governmental organisation affiliated to A Rocha International. They implement innovative projects on biodiversity conservation, farming, research, advocacy and education for sustainable development. As founder, she has been offering strategic direction and working as National Director for the same organization since 2006.   Sara is originally a secondary school teacher of biology & chemistry and with over 15 years of experience in development work; Her dynamic leadership is marked by a deep commitment to genuine and long-term achievements through practical innovations. She has also had influence in environmental conservation alliances at local, national and global levels. Sara is an alumna of the Tropical Biology Association and the Earth Watch Institute.
